Safe transport in the Paulibox

Safe transport in the Paulibox

Sicherheit wird bei Paulibox groß geschrieben.

You want to “buckle up” your dog in the car? Why not try a more comfortable and especially safer way: the Paulibox. The carrier for dogs ensures safe transport of your four-legged friend from A to B in the form of an aluminium dog carrier using Isofix.

The transport of dogs is regulated by the law:

According to Section 22 of the German Road Traffic Regulations, your dog has to be restrained while the vehicle is in motion; otherwise, you are risking a fine of 35.00 €.

You would like to take your dog along in your car and surely you wonder: “How am I supposed to transport my dog in the car?”

In our eyes, the answer could not be simpler: with the Paulibox, of course! The Isofix anchoring system for child safety seats makes securing and optimally restraining your dog on the backseat possible. How do we know this? We determined the safety of the Paulibox for dogs weighing 51 lbs or less in multiple crash tests on a sled installation of the Material Testing Institute in Stuttgart.

As you can see, the dog’s safety in the car is definitely ensured since your four-legged family member is “buckled up” just like all other vehicle passengers.

Advantages of the carrier with Isofix anchor points:

Simple installation of the Paulibox – minimized risk of faulty installation

In the event of an accident, risk of impact to the dog is minimized by yielding of the straps

Even without a dog inside, the Paulibox is optimally secured in the car by the tethers

Isofix—not just for child safety seats

Isofix is a fastening system which is viewed as an especially safe and simple system to use. It forms a sturdy connection between the child safety seat or, in our case, the Paulibox and the bodywork of the vehicle.

We are using this technology commonly present in almost all vehicles to our advantage and have designed the Paulibox so that it can fully protect the dog in the event of an accident. Your dog is not the only one who is protected—the ISOFIX system also protects the passengers in the car during a potential accident.

The Paulibox is equipped with Isofix hooks, which are simply hooked to the provided anchor points in the gap between the seat and the backrest of the backseat of the vehicle. Therefore, this is the safe method of safely transporting the pet in your care despite a simple installation. Owing to the simple way of fitting the Paulibox to the Isofix anchoring system, there is little risk of faultily installing the Paulibox.

Additional safety with a second door module (optional)

The additional door has the great advantage that the dog can walk into the carrier mounted in the backseat from both sides. Especially in parking situations in which your pet may have difficulties getting into the carrier, it can simply get in from the other side.

We are also aware that there are situations in which your pet may still have to ride in the boot, for which situation the ratchet set is intended. Should the backseat be needed for human passengers, the Paulibox can of course also be used in the boot if the vehicle is equipped accordingly

Entry possible from both sides of the vehicle in difficult parking situations
In the event of a rear-end collision, the dog can leave the boot via the backseat.
